Watchmen at LHOP

A Watchman is a person who ministers to the Lord from the pews of the Prayer Room. Even though they are not ministering on the altar as a musician or prayer leader, Watchmen commit to a specific two-hour time in the Prayer Room. During that time, they worship and intercede for Hampton Roads, using a list of prayer focuses provided by LHOP. Watchmen are also responsible for tracking their prayer time in the Watchmen Log, recording what they prayed for and what the Lord was speaking to them.
Our vision is to have a Watchman in the prayer room for every hour that LHOP’s doors are open.

A Watchmen Orientation is required for anyone who wants to be a Watchman.
Watchmen Orientation is held periodically and lasts two hours. The orientation covers the spiritual significance of being a Watchman, as well as the technical aspects of this position. If you feel called to be a Watchman at LHOP, or simply would like more information, please contact our Watchmen Director, Andrew McDade, at andrew.mcdade@lhop.us.
