The Nightwatch at LHOP

Psalm 134:1-2

Praise the LORD, all you servants of the LORD who minister by night in the house of the LORD. Lift up your hands in the sanctuary and praise the LORD.

WHAT IS THE NIGHT WATCH?

Night Watch refers to the hours of prayer from 11pm – 7am. We believe that God has called LHOP to be a place where worship and intercession are offered to Him 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Currently, we are committed to having a Night Watch on the first Sunday and Tuesday of every month but our vision for the future is to have a prayer room that is functioning 24-7.

WHAT IS 24-7 VIRGINIA?

You may have heard the term 24-7 Virginia floating around lately, so here is a little information about what that is. If you haven’t heard of it, I encourage you to read about it because it does relate to our Night Watch significantly.

David Bradshaw (Associate Director, Fredericksburg Prayer Furnace) had a dream where he saw the East Coast like it would be seen on a map. Somewhere in the South (possibly one of the Carolinas) he saw a military crisis that was moving up the Coast toward Washington D.C. In the dream, David Bradshaw called Benjamin Atkinson (Intercessory Missionary, International House of Prayer and good friend of the prayer movement in Virginia) and told him that we had to unite the houses of prayer in Virginia so that we could pray day and night in order to save lives.

These “houses of prayer” are the different groups of people (whether they are actual ministries or people with a burden to intercede for Virginia) that are coming together to pray and fast for the sake of state. LivingStone House of Prayer is one of these groups who are dedicated to building a wall of prayer that stands night and day here in Virginia. We have committed to do this every first Sunday and Tuesday of the month. At current, this is the primary focus of our prayers during the Night Watch. God has spoken to our community on many occasions about a coming crisis in our state and the important role that God wants LHOP to play in it. We affirm David Bradshaw’s dream and believe it to be another confirmation of what God has already been making us aware of.

Please visit 24-7virginia.com for more information about this “prayer community” that spans across Virginia.

LivingStone House of Prayer holds a Nightwatch twice monthly, on the first Sunday and Tuesday of each month, from 11:00pm- 7:00am the next day. For more information, contact
